Today I worked on my Faustball website, which  contains  lots  of
old  code  from myself. It's bad quality code, I must admit. If I
read it I can see the progress I've made over the years.

Here an example of the old implementation:

     $lines = file($file);
     sort($lines);
     $heute = date('Y-m-d');
     for ($i=0; $i<count($lines) && strcmp($lines[$i], $heute) < 0; $i++) {
             continue;
     }
     for ($j=0; $j<$maxevents && $i+$j<count($lines); $j++) {
             $val = trim($lines[$i+$j]);
             ...

I've rewritten it to:

     $lines = file($file);
     sort($lines);
     $heute = date('Y-m-d');
     foreach ($lines as $line) {
             $line = trim($line);
             if (strcmp($line, $heute) < 0) {
                     continue;
             }
             ...



Additionally: I now generate Ical files (RFC 5545). Not the  most
neat format, but I got along with it.
