2017-12-11 Today I installed Debian 9.3 on an Asus EeePC, called ``guanaco''. When downloading the image, I was a bit confused what the archi- tecture is. amd64? i386? Somewhere on the Internet, I read that the Intel N550 chip would be amd64, but then I installed the i386 image ... whatever, it worked. ;-) Writing the image on the USB drive, I used cp(1), not dd(1) as usually: cp debian.iso /dev/sdd On [0] I read that I had to hit ESC multiple times to select the boot device. This page was helpful as well. [1] Concerning the networking, firmware-brcm80211 [2] was *not* the correct firmware. I had to use firmware-ralink. [3] This needed recherche and some trial'n'error.
