Prefer lightweight, dynamic structure over heavy,  static  struc-
ture.   The former gives you more flexibility to react on changes
in the environment and on new insights, which are  common  situa-
tions.  Use  static structure only where it is technically neces-
sary and in places you are very convinced that they change seldom
and the rigid structure provides some benefit for you (like error
detection).

That's structurally similar to avoiding magic numbers.
