In huge complex conditional code parts, an old technique can come
to  rescue: Draw flow diagrams! They might seem ancient and might
look a bit trivial, but they can really  help  you  ...  if  your
brain's  not  big enough to handle the complexity. (Mine often is
surprisingly small!)
