Some investigations into the thousands separator  in  regards  of
sort(1).  [0]

To me, sort(1) is one of the challenging standard tools.  I  know
that  I only work on a 70% understanding basis with it. Some day,
I want to really understand it, become confident  in  my  working
with it, understand it thoroughly.
