2016-07-22 Bought a new mouse, a wireless Logitech M185, for my desktop machine, which has a wireless keyboard since some time. The new mouse reduced the used USB ports by one, because both input dev- ices can connect to a single receiver. Actually, the motivation to by the mouse was the wish to remove the active USB hub, that I used on the Cubietruck, because it consumes a lot of power. With only one USB port used for the input devices and the other one free for memory sticks, the USB hub could be removed. Pairing the mouse with the Unifying Receiver was painless, as the other time: It just worked. The mouse, however, feels a bit strange (too fast, too ``jum- py''), compared to the corded MX500, that I used before. It also is smaller and lighter. To be true, the change is a quality de- crease, but the advantages outweigh it. At least, I changed the mouse parameters from ``2/1 4'' to: xset m 0 100 Now I rebooted the homeserver with the failed RAID1 disk. The RAID is rebuilding, currently. The two disks show some differences: sda: 1 Raw_Read_Error_Rate 0x002f 200 200 051 Pre-fail Always - 8 3 Spin_Up_Time 0x0027 181 180 021 Pre-fail Always - 5941 4 Start_Stop_Count 0x0032 100 100 000 Old_age Always - 16 5 Reallocated_Sector_Ct 0x0033 200 200 140 Pre-fail Always - 0 7 Seek_Error_Rate 0x002e 200 200 000 Old_age Always - 0 9 Power_On_Hours 0x0032 084 084 000 Old_age Always - 11810 10 Spin_Retry_Count 0x0032 100 253 000 Old_age Always - 0 11 Calibration_Retry_Count 0x0032 100 253 000 Old_age Always - 0 12 Power_Cycle_Count 0x0032 100 100 000 Old_age Always - 16 192 Power-Off_Retract_Count 0x0032 200 200 000 Old_age Always - 6 193 Load_Cycle_Count 0x0032 200 200 000 Old_age Always - 61 194 Temperature_Celsius 0x0022 117 115 000 Old_age Always - 33 196 Reallocated_Event_Count 0x0032 200 200 000 Old_age Always - 0 197 Current_Pending_Sector 0x0032 200 200 000 Old_age Always - 0 198 Offline_Uncorrectable 0x0030 100 253 000 Old_age Offline - 0 199 UDMA_CRC_Error_Count 0x0032 200 200 000 Old_age Always - 0 200 Multi_Zone_Error_Rate 0x0008 100 253 000 Old_age Offline - 0 sdb: 1 Raw_Read_Error_Rate 0x002f 200 200 051 Pre-fail Always - 284 3 Spin_Up_Time 0x0027 213 196 021 Pre-fail Always - 4316 4 Start_Stop_Count 0x0032 100 100 000 Old_age Always - 5 5 Reallocated_Sector_Ct 0x0033 200 200 140 Pre-fail Always - 2 7 Seek_Error_Rate 0x002e 200 200 000 Old_age Always - 0 9 Power_On_Hours 0x0032 084 084 000 Old_age Always - 11809 10 Spin_Retry_Count 0x0032 100 253 000 Old_age Always - 0 11 Calibration_Retry_Count 0x0032 100 253 000 Old_age Always - 0 12 Power_Cycle_Count 0x0032 100 100 000 Old_age Always - 5 192 Power-Off_Retract_Count 0x0032 200 200 000 Old_age Always - 1 193 Load_Cycle_Count 0x0032 200 200 000 Old_age Always - 59 194 Temperature_Celsius 0x0022 117 115 000 Old_age Always - 33 196 Reallocated_Event_Count 0x0032 199 199 000 Old_age Always - 1 197 Current_Pending_Sector 0x0032 200 200 000 Old_age Always - 2 198 Offline_Uncorrectable 0x0030 100 253 000 Old_age Offline - 0 199 UDMA_CRC_Error_Count 0x0032 200 200 000 Old_age Always - 0 200 Multi_Zone_Error_Rate 0x0008 200 200 000 Old_age Offline - 13 I bought a replacement disk, foremost to have it available. I think I'll replace the problematic sdb with it. http://marmaro.de/lue/ markus schnalke
