2016-07-01 Shell scripting is a realization of software leverage, which is a most powerful concept. Making the shell exchangeable was surely a brave but also a brilliant decision in Unix. These things are the true values of Unix! For sure, Bourne shell syntax is of no such good value. (If one takes a look at the original implementation with the Algol if- defs, one gets the creeping horrors!) But hey, the user is free to choose whatever shell he likes!
