2016-03-30 Molly (the vserver I have in a datacenter) did crash, due to a hardware defect, they said. I thought that would no more happen since everything is virtualized ... however. Had a two-hour downtime and afterwards a rebooted server. This is no thing if you use a server for website hosting alone. In this case people just care for availability. I don't care so much about the availability but about not suffering reboots. I work on the machine. I have long running tasks. I have long-living tmux sessions. A reboot (especially one that catches my by surprise) is like someone else sweeping everything from your desk into one of the drawers, or someone else ``tidying'' your room. It's an annoyance! http://marmaro.de/lue/ markus schnalke
