2015-11-30 Once upon a time HTML had been a markup language to be written by people to express semantics and formatting, like authors do with Latex. Today, HTML is used more like a programming language, which only programmers use below the surface. HTML strangely developed from an easy to write and read markup helper into a technical specification language for website construction. The change concerned more the typical than the possible usecases. Well, today, I just wrote some simple HTML pages from scratch. How long haven't I've done thi! This was when I realized how the common view on HTML had changed. One should open one's editor with an empty file and then write the HTML code right into it, not copying stuff nor looking up in references. This will give a good experience of what was lost on the way to the modern web. http://marmaro.de/lue/ markus schnalke
