m_getfld() is dead! ... after so many years, at least in mmh,  we
managed  to  slay  the  beast.  In a still experimental branch, I
managed to get  Philipp's  newly  implemented  m_getfld2()  fully
working.  [0] What a great day for me!

Left is to do some more testing and then merge  the  branch  into
mainline  mmh  ... and then release an m_getfld()-free version of
mmh.
