2014-03-01 Today, almost one month after I've installed the system on Edoras, I took it into service. Edoras is mainly a file server, because the hard drives are located there. Hence, I needed NFS. All the other services I need at home are provided by Klette, be- cause Edoras is shut off most of the time, whereas Klette is al- ways on. The reason to create Edoras was a broken hard disk of Serveme. There was no data loss because the disk was only one half of a RAID1, but the root filesystem became depopulated (mainly by my own inability to deal with fsck(8)). You don't want to figure out what the names, permissions and locations of hundreds of files in /lost+found were. ;-) Thus, I just made a backup of some relevant parts of the system partition. Additionally, I copied the user data, that resided on the surviving hard disk, too, to another RAID1 disk array. http://marmaro.de/lue/ markus schnalke
