2012-06-29 Aaron Mueller proposed to review my thesis, which I've gladly welcomed. He uses xournal [0] for doing so. I've not used it myself and prefer to avoid graphical applications if possible. Yet, the annotated PDF he has sent me looks appealing. Especial- ly for tablet users (krt!), this program is worth testing. I'm a bit undecided about it. Annotating PDFs with xournal seems to be similar to annotating paper with a pencil and text marker. That's what I like. On the other hand, receiving comments in text email is much more natural to me. Here one example from Kate, who does a great job improving my writing: 2.Paragraph: - ... exploiting the central concepts better. Man wuerde das eher so schreiben: ... and better exploiting the central concepts. Oder auch: ... and better exploitation of the central concepts. - On the historical side, ... eher deutsche Satzstellung (diese Verschachtelung), lieber sowas in der Art: ... changes through time are discussed, regarding the use cases and email features, as well as the reactions to them. - ... mainly based ON the Unix philosophy ... For the reviewer, the textual form is more work, despite copy'n'paste. Because I like to receive feedback, I accept whatever format they like to use, as long as it is not all too inconvenient for me.
