2012-05-11 I came across /doc [0] today. First, I thought it would be wonderful to have /doc instead of /usr/share/doc, but as I read through DJB's proposal I realized that it proposed something dif- ferent. No, I don't want to have such stuff based on HTML. Plain text is perfect for most of it and roff has the great ad- vantages that it doesn't change every year and that it contains no dynamic elements. This eases everything a lot. I agree that the roff syntax is awkward, but the resulting man pages provide a good form of presentation. There are few concepts so convincing like man pages.
