Sometimes one needs to get loud  and  definitive  to  get  things
changed.  This is an email I received today:

     Sehr geehrter Herr Schnalke,

     vielen Dank für Ihre Nachricht. Wir bedauern sehr, dass
     Sie    keine    Produktinformationen   mehr   wünschen.
     Selbstverständlich   haben   wir   uns   sofort   darum
     gekümmert.

     Ihre Kundendaten haben wir natürlich  sofort  für  Wer-
     beanrufe   und  für  die  Zusendung  von  Werbematerial
     gesperrt.

(The word ``sofort'' refers to the  moment  when  I  had  finally
reached the right person.)

I already thought about changing the provider, because it annoyed
me,  and  on  principle,  because  you shouldn't put up with such
things.



Today, I've tidied up and  de-trashed  large  parts  of  my  data
storages.   It  had  been  a trip into past times.  Among lots of
