2012-01-25 Just awhile ago random login attempts on my imapd started. They are mostly annoying, as they are trival: test/test, info/info, user/user, guest/guest, username/username, admin/admin, webmaster/webmaster. The same over and over again. How lame! The only excitement had been: mike/mike ... *omg* Worked on mmh again. Finally I could track down the ``Invalid cross-device link'' problem with temporary files. One slash was missing. If ~/Mail is no symlink to another file system, you won't noticed. Strace(1) had been really helpful here. I'll surely should use it more often. Watched Mr. Borchert developing a C program from scratch for an hour. It's always interesting to watch him using his computer, but this had been an even different experience. I enjoyed it. :-) Just to name one particular new thing I saw: `:0r' in vi. I've never realized I could do this. And btw: He also uses `ko' in- stead of `O'. Wanted to use ICQ for some special task. I haven't used it for ages (this at least is my feeling). Well, I remembered having bitlbee set up and weechat-curses installed. I simply fired up weechat and ... had been helpless. I couldn't remember any way to control it, not even how to quit. Then I gave sic a try and that went better. Set up a new bitlbee account. (Don't forget the login server for ICQ.) Came across sim [0], which I like. No I don't want to start chatting, but it's good to have the pos- sibility handy. Therefore, one needs to give it a go from time to time. I still need to figure out how to reactivate my jabber ac- count. In the end, I sat in front of the computer until late at night, although I wanted to have a lazy evening and watch Alien 4. Looks like computer work attracts me more than chilling. ;-) [0] http://macarony.de/project/sim/sim.html http://marmaro.de/lue/ markus schnalke
