Not only should you make backups, but also should  you  copy  the
data  to  newer  storage  media  every few years. Today I finally
copied my bunch of 3 1/4" floppies to CD. The first step is done.
Soon  I should start copying CD contents to DVDs, because CDs are
not very resistent against environmental influences. Spending one
afternoon  and a few Euros helps you to save your data ... if you
still like to have it saved in these times of data inflation.

And btw: When did you do your last off-line backup?
