2011-08-31 Released masqmail-0.3.3, being the security fix for the 0.3 branch. On upstream's side, the problem is fixed now. But down- stream, i.e. distributions, take more time. Juergen Daubert quickly included masqmail-0.2.30 into Crux. The Debian package I maintain myself. One for unstable is already finished and wait- ing for upload. [0] This will problably migrate to testing au- tomatically, although more quickly. For dealing with stable and oldstable, I have asked for advice. As it's not just a function- al bug but a (possible) security problem, things are much more complicated in large distributions like Debian. These are ex- periences you can only learn the hard way. logname(1) is a bit strange, [1] and possibly broken on Crux. Alternatives: whoami(1) (not protable!), id(1) (definded by POSIX but probably not available on every system), and $LOGNAME. Had a quick look into xxxterm, which seems to be interesting, but is probably just another webkit frontend. The Mozilla release practice discussions motivated me to investigate into alterna- tives to Firefox/Vimperator. (w3m is only usable for sane web pages, but not for the modern web.) Modern uzbl is broken, but the old versions were quite nice. I came across, [2] which tries to give an overview on dwm. The screenshot provided, [3] however, shows exactly what dwm is not: a floating WM. Gimp always had been an exeption on dwm's window management and XMMS, simply is broken from dwm's point of view. It would be better if people who understood the program would provide information, otherwise to end users will get it wrong. Concepts and basic views of the topic are the most important in- formation. One shouldn't fail on them.
