2011-07-13 Currently I'm trying to reduce the amount of different stuff I do. The goal is to do less things but those more intensive. Mailing lists is one such topic. I have reduced the number of lists I read and don't miss them. Despite this ambition, I'm tempted by the call of Usenet. The Usenet world is as attractive to me as the Unix world had been. (Don't worry: It still is.) Entering it is just the ques- tion of sooner or later. Perhaps the delay is only caused by the lack of ``cool'' news readers. Today, I used telnet ... not too bad. ;-) Writing one's own news reader is probably a nice exercise. At least I won't run into the depression as with the rss2email topic. Another step back ... away from the modern technologies to the good old times? Probably! But what about real life? The idea of using computers only in the good old style is just too attractive to me ... Firefox and its grab-focus BUG (yes, BUG!) destroyed my surf ses- sion again. I really should make the landmark decision ... (see previous paragraph). http://marmaro.de/lue/ markus schnalke
