2011-04-12 Today I went back to my new crux system. I managed to start X after adding this to lilo.conf: append = "i915.modeset=1" As I am no master in configuring kernels, I had to learn that lspci(8) prints the information you need in order to know which features you need to enable. First I hadn't been able to get the wireless interface running. This was because I had compiled the ipw2200 driver into the ker- nel. After making it a module, it worked fine. This tutorial helped [0]. Afterwards I set my environment up: window manager, profile, my personal tools and aliases. I did this using the pkg* tools and in parallel prt-get(8). Had no problems. It's pretty usable by now, my new crux system. :-) [0] http://crux.nu/Wiki/Thinkpad-T43p http://marmaro.de/lue/ markus schnalke
