2010-10-18 There is an extraordinary useful program for instable ssh connec- tion, called autossh. I know it from Axel Beckert's talk ``Tipps und Tricks rund um die SSH'' [0]. You use it for example so: autossh -t example.org 'screen -RD' Thanks Axel, I would grow mad here without having autossh. :-) Vim is just too intelligent for me. Why can't I tell it to not use any (really no) colors or font highlighting? I achieved it not earlier but by pretending the terminal would not be able to handle it. Thanks to yeti at debianforum.de for pointing out the solution. [1] The reason for using vim at all is it's handy gq command for re- formating long lines in quoted email text. This can be accom- plished by `fmt -s -p "> "' too but is's not half as handy.
