2022-04-15 Long Drives After quite some time I've been back to the field today. With a tailwind I threw far drives. I had three discs with me: a 158g Star Teebird, a 168g Star Valkyrie, and a 175g Star Eagle. All of them flew 90m several times. The Teebird was the one without a drive farther than 90m. As Tee- birds are, the don't want to turn, and if I crank it over it might not come back. Flexshots simply are not what Teebirds like to do. This Teebird isn't seasoned enough to fly on a hyzerflip line. The Valkyrie flies great distance lines. It turns for a long time without burning, then comes back at the end. This specific Valkyrie is rather understable ... or maybe that is a more typi- cal Valkyrie, compared to my yellow one. One throw ended right at the bottom of the fence, on the high righthand side. That would have landed at about 100m. Another throw was only slightly short- er. This specific Eagle has a lot of turn but also fades strongly. Compared to the other two discs I must not give it any hyzer, plus, it needs a higher line for a full flex. One time it flew over the fence and beyond the track. This was my second longest throw on this field to this point: 105m, I'd say. I did throw with X-steps (and some anger). The tailwind helped as well. A key value to success was reaching back low. The main problem in my motion was the bracing at the end. My throwing style rather resembled James Conrad's running through. Nonetheless, the distance success was a nice experience, today. http://marmaro.de/discgolf/ markus schnalke
