2021-09-13 Quick Round Soehnstetten I played a quick evening round at the Soehnstetten course. The weather was great: 20C, no wind. The round took me only about 50 minutes, between some holes I was even running. In my hand I had three discs: D P3, JB Zone, and S Valk. The holes: 1) Zone backhand anny, too short and too right, landed under the trees. The window was too small, I hit the first twigs and dropped right down. Missed the 10m putt. Made the 5m comebacker. -> 4 2) Zone forehand, good drive. Made the 7m putt! -> 2 3) Valk backhand, left as always ;-) , but far enough to have an eays layup. Drop-in. -> 3 4) Valk backhand, decent drive. 20m or so jump putt, without a chance to go in. 4m putt. -> 3 5) Valk backhand, good and far drive (which was easy as there was no wind on the hole today). Zone approach. 4m putt. -> 3 6) Zone forehand, good power but a bit high, thus landing right. 14m missputt. 6m comebacker. -> 3 7) Zone backhand, okay, a bit short but placed well. P3 layup. 4m putt. -> 3 8) Valk backhand. 12m missputt. 2m putt. -> 3 9) With the new mando! I was a bit rushed on the drive. Mainly I did not give it any anny angle. Valk backhand, landing left at hole 8's pin. Zone backhand hyzer approach, which was not good enough. 9m missputt (on the elevated pin). 3m comebacker. -> 4 10) Valk backhand, too left, landing in the hillside and short. Good approach. 6m putt. -> 3 11) Zone forehand, too left. (The right side of the pin is much more open.) From 6m I had no putt, unless a straddle out forehand line. This I tried and hit the band. Drop-in. -> 3 12) Zone backhand, a bit short but otherwise okay. Missed the 9m putt. 3m comebacker. -> 3 13) Valk backhand, unfortunately left and short. Approach. 8m missputt. 3m putt. -> 4 14) Valk backhand, landing right in the lift track. Awkward foot- ing but a safe run at the basket from 12m. I missed, then dropped it in. -> 3 15) This time a Valk forehand ... and how wonderful it flew! 3m putt for birdie! :-) -> 2 16) Valk backhand, landing short. Long jump putt approach, without a real chance of making it. 3m putt. -> 3 17) From the new tee location. Zone backhand, stallout fade-in shot, placed next to the pin. :-) 3m putt. -> 2 18) Zone backhand, landing right behind the first trees on the right. I had an open look ... and sank it from 12m! :-) -> 2 With three birdies on the last four holes, it became a good round, scoring at -1 (=53). The beginning and the end were good. In the middle section I missed to many easy holes (8, 11, 12). With the new tee on #17, the course has become one stroke easier. I've never birdied the old #17, and it was unlikely to do so, un- less with a lucky long putt. The new #17 is an easy birdie now, at least a hole which I will hardly bogey, unless in strong west wind. My putting felt very good. That was a key to success today. Putts made: - DI: 3 - 2m: 1 - 3m: 6 - 4m: 3 - 5m: 1 - 6m: 2 - 7m: 1 - 12m: 1 Putts missed: - 6m FH: 1 - 8m: 1 - 9m: 2 - 10m: 1 - 12m: 2 - 14m: 1 What made it good putting is that I made anything from 7m and in! Missing only putts between 8m and 14m. (Bad putting is when I miss 5m putts.) Except for the ``too much hyzer, leaking left'' problem with the Valkyrie drives in the middle section of the round, my drives were good. No reason to complain. Overall it was a good evening round. http://marmaro.de/discgolf/ markus schnalke
