2019-10-27 Casual Doubles Today I played doubles on the Wiley course. First alternating doubles, myself with a rather low-performing partner against Lydi and Jona, which have played for the second or third time. We all played with one disc each. They used a Shark and Buzzz, I went with the C-Line P3. For throwing I rather would have chosen the JB Zone, but the C P3 putts like a P3, whereas the Zone does not. Eventually we needed 45 throws, the others needed 40. Each team getting one 3. Right thereafter we played another round. My partner left, thus I played alone. Lydi and Jona played best shot doubles against me. I started off with a double bogey on hole 1, then played well for par, but had to take bogeys on 8 and 9. The best shot was on hole 4. Instead of the typical forehand, I played a big fade out anny backhand. This worked out great, for the only birdie of the round. There's actually enough open room up there for this line. I haven't really considered this route up to now. This is why playing one disc rounds makes sense: You rethink your game and try out new lines. Eventually I scored 30, whereas my competitors needed 31 throws (4 bogeys, the rest pars). It was a nice time disc golfing. These double variations are a good way to level all kinds of player skills. http://marmaro.de/discgolf/ markus schnalke
