2019-08-29 Evening round Soehnstetten Today, I played a round with Marius in Soehnstetten. It was the second time for him playing, the first one being two years back. I gave him a Buzzz for throwing and a Pure for putting. After some holes he decided that the Buzzz would putt better for him. He said that it would glide better, not falling down as fast. The flight of the Buzzz was what he was more used to, thus he started to putt with it as well. Playing a one disc round from then one. I wanted to throw similar discs to him, so I started with the JB Zone for throwing and a D P3 for putting. The P3 didn't work so well; it was not one of my P3s from the bag, but as different one with more dome, maybe that was a problem. Anyway, I also put the putter aside and continued with only one disc after a few holes. The Zone putts just fine. Playing with exactly one disc makes everything so much easier. In the end, Marius finished with 76 (+22). He had 2 triple bogeys, 4 double-bogeys, 7 bogeys, 3 pars and 1 birdie. A few times he had to three-putt. And on some of the holes he experi- mented with forehands, which cost him some strokes (but good he did experiment!). Furthermore, there were some concentration losses near the end of the round -- understandable, as it was al- ready getting late. I finished with 60 (+6). Par was my best score on the course, but I also have played +10 with drivers. Thus, for a one disc round (with the Zone) the score is okay. It would have been better with less putting mistakes. I had two double bogeys, both after missed par putts and rollaways. Then 3 bogeys, two of them because of missed 6m putts and one caused by a bad thumber which rolled away. All the rest were solid pars. Only on the last hole I could get a birdie. I sank several longer putts, which I am happy about. http://marmaro.de/discgolf/ markus schnalke
