2019-03-02 Sexton Forehand Grip I've been to the soccer field to practice for one hour today. It had about 12 deg C and a slight wind in varying directions and later more from the front. I shot four rounds with 17 discs each. Some notes: - The Pro Valk flew 50m straight, then turned and burned at 70m right, then I threw with too much hyzer crashing it at 70m left, then again it turned and burned at 70m right. This seems to be the pattern when throwing the P-VL into too much headwind. - The Star Valk flew 80m, 90m, 90m, 90m. It can handle this amount of wind without problem. - The purple DX Teebird convinced as well. It still holds well against a slight headwind: 90m, 90m, 80m, 90m. It sometimes travelled right a bit, but would not crash. - Since I beat the orange DX Teebird 171g in a bit, it flies longer ways. It nearly reached 90m two times. - I decided to throw the Buzzz today, which I haven't done for quite some time. I went straight to 70m, 80m, 70m, 80m. - Also threw the Z Wasp. Nice disc, I must admit. Threw it very consistently just over 70m all four times. - I threw all three Comets. They had few problems with the wind. The ESP Comet -- my main thrower for a long time in the beginning -- flew nice 80m! X and BigZ Comets flew well, too. - The JB Zone (70m) flies 10m farther backhand than the ESP Zone (60m), because the latter is noticably more overstable. Forehand I both pumped them out to 65m. I threw some more discs, but nothing noticable. Most interesting about today is the change in my forehand grip. I used to throw with two straight fingers inside the rim. After I watched an old AMA by Nate Sexton where he showed his forehand grip, I decided to give it a try. The result: It worked much better for me. The disc wobbles less, as the thumb and index/middle finger are at the same place of the flight plate now. It seems as if I might have made this experience already some time ago, but then forgot and had to make it again. Well ... at least my forehands are much more reliable now. I can now really rip drivers forehand. http://marmaro.de/discgolf/ markus schnalke
