2018-11-22 Discgolf Berlin To my stay in Berlin I took one disc with me: the Jawbreaker Zone. There's one parcours in Berlin at Volkspark Rehfelde. The Internet said that it would not be more than the remainings of an old parcours. I went there today. All I found were two old Mach baskets at the south end of the park. No signs, no teepads, no further baskets that I could find. That's sad because the park is just perfect for a parcours. It would only collide with the many dogs out there, but ways could be found to coexist. Well, those two baskets are about 40 meters apart from each oth- er. There are a couple of trees around, but there's a straight line through them. One basket is near some scrubs, which end at the direct line between the baskets. You can only just not see from basket to basket. I started putting for a while at one basket. It was the first time I played to such Mach baskets. Now I see the difference between them and new baskets. ;-) I tried to get more spin into my push putts. It didn't work out so well. My putting in general didn't work well. :-( After some time I tried some spin putting ... and hit putt after putt this way! For layups the push style is fine -- not pretty, but effective. For longer putts it fails. Thus I'm gonna give spin putting a try for the next time. After the putting, I started throwing back and forth from basket to basket. I threw some backhand, some forehand (some only with the wrist), and some in jump putt motion. I threw hyzers, straight to fade, annies, flexshots ... all forehand and back- hand. It was the first time, I did such a back and forth playing between baskets. It was quite some fun ... much more fun than it would have been with just one basket. Later I went on walking through the park and throwing drives and approaches as I moved. I like this JB Zone a lot. It feels so good for driving and flies so smooth. But for putting it is not the right disc. Not because of it's obvious overstability but more because of the flatness of the flight plate. I had some problems fan-gripping it. My fingers seemed to not find their places. For putting the P3s feel much different (i.e. better), whereas for driving (three-finger power-grip) the differences are small. Forehand, Zones are great. I definitely need more practice with this disc. http://marmaro.de/discgolf/ markus schnalke
