2018-11-01 Wiley, Discs in Hand I played two rounds at the Wiley course today afternoon. I went there with three discs: D P3, DX TB, ES TB. This is the essence of my bag: A putter/approach disc/short driver, namely the P3. And a pair of drivers, one straight-without-fade and the other straight-with-fade, namely the Teebirds. The first round I shot +1. I had a birdie on the short hole 5, which I parked with my P3. Unfortunately I double-bogeyed hole 8, after an early branch hit, chipping out of the scrubs and a missed put. The rest were pars. Nice was the 95m drive on hole 1 with the DX TB (my first drive) -- pin-height, it was just a bit right. On the last hole, I approached with a thumber, for place- ment reasons. It worked out perfect. The second round I shot E: all pars. But I had three missed putts. The best shot was my practice shot on the last (100m) hole with the ES TB: I threw it nose-down and low. It went and went, sliding past the bushes to about 90m. I think it was the best drive I ever shot on this hole. On both rounds I threw forehands on all three forehand holes. They worked well. Overall I had only two branch hits. I think this comes from playing it more smooth and slow than usually, especially in the woods. The training sessions of the last time seem to show results. :-) Playing with only three discs was good. Both Teebirds had about the same number of throws. (The one with fade is the more impor- tant one of the two.) The only thing I missed was a putter with less fade for longer putts. Maybe I should beat in one of my P3s more. http://marmaro.de/discgolf/ markus schnalke
