2018-03-31 Five Times 90m A quick visit to the field. I shot two rounds. The first from a standstill, the second with an X-step. The main reason I went to the field were my two new discs -- a Z Wasp and a BigZ Comet. I'll come back to them later. The standstill distances (right after warmup): 90m: DX Teebird (blue) 85m: Trespass 80m: Echostar Teebird 77m: Star Eagle, Star Valkyrie 73m: Champ Teebird 68m: BigZ Comet 65m: Star Teebird, Z Wasp, DX Leo 60m: X Comet, ESP Comet The second round, with an X-step (and slight tailwind): 90m: BigZ Comet!, DX Teebird (blue), Star Teebird, Star Eagle, Felon 80m: Champ Teebird, Echostar Teebird 75m: Valk, QJLS, Leo (all three with stallouts), P3! 70m: ESP Comet, Zone (I omitted those shots that failed for some reason.) What a shot with the BigZ Comet! It was my third or fourth throw with it at all and it went up to 90m on a perfect line. So great! But other discs provided good results too: The blue DX Teebird flew 90m twice on two shots today. And the overstable Felon went 90m on a flex line. (The Valkyrie, which should fly much farther than the Felon fails so bad, in contrast.) I'm really happy with the results of this quick field work today. Coming to the new discs. I've decided to get my a Z Wasp as an overstable midrange to complement my Comets and as a longer Zone. It'll need more time spent practicing with it. Yet, it already showed the flight characteristics I wanted it to have. The BigZ Comet is a bit more stable than my other ones. (It seems the ESP Comet became quite a bit understable by now ... unfor- tunately.) This new Comet appears to be the best one of them now. Much more important than these new discs is the consistency and distance of my drives today. http://marmaro.de/discgolf/ markus schnalke
