2018-03-23 Loose Wrist Another breakthrough! These days I'm really moving! :-) I was doing field work (crushed the QJLS to 90m again), when I somehow noticed a bit of rounding in my reachback. As I tried to correct it, by reaching back more away from my body, it happened that I opened my wrist a bit at the peak of the reachback ... Out came a powerful throw. Hence I experimented with it. And, guess what!, it provided both: more power and more nose down! For weeks I've been trying to force my wrist downwards and a bit inwards, which is a strange position for me, to get the nose down. I might have fixed the wrist too much. Now I do almost the contrary: on the reachback, I let the disc swing a bit outwards; when I start to pull, I pull it back in. The motion is smooth (good!) and flowing. I muscle less and, at the same time; throw farther ... and cleaner! The X Comet flew nicely up to 80m! The overstable Champ Teebird reached 85m on a pretty flat release. The Lucid Felon got to the same distance on a flex line. Most of my straighter discs I sim- ply turned over ... not because of OAT but because of more release velocity, I'm sure. If the X Comet flew nicer than be- fore, my OAT must be low. I just should have given these DX Tee- birds more hyzer. Unfortunately my time on the field was limited. The breakthrough was near the end, so I had only one round of discs to throw with the new technique. I can't wait to return to the field! http://marmaro.de/discgolf/ markus schnalke
