2018-03-08 X-Step Since I started with disc golf, a bit more than one year ago, I have (with the exception of some experiments) thrown from a standstill. This was on purpose to simplify the throwing motion and remove variables, in order to concentrate on the upper body. After filming myself again recently, I came to the conclusion that the missing X-step was my biggest problem regarding my driv- ing form. Thus, I started to throw with an X-step. Today was the first day to do so ... and it worked! The whole throwing motion now is much smoother and fits better together with the little ``run-up'' and X-step. My consistency remained roughly the same, regarding drives. (For upshots I'll probably stick to the standstill.) The X-step will definitely provide more distance and smoother technique for me! At the same time, I'm happy I waited with it this long, because now I have realized, *why* I want to use it, thus it's use out of conviction, not just by accident. Distances today on the field (slightly uphill, slight headwind): - ESP Comet: 70m - D-Line P3: 70m - Echostar Teebird: 70m - Star Valkyrie: 75m - Champion Teebird: 80m - DX Teebird: 80m - Echos- tar Teebird: 90m (!) http://marmaro.de/discgolf/ markus schnalke
