2018-01-13 Flattening a Disc I have a new D-Line P3. It is a bit domey ... it was! I thought that'd like to have it more flatter. Thus I tried to flatten it. That worked perfectly. I warmed it up under warm water. In the meantime I boiled some water. Then I placed the disc upside-down in the sink, filled it a bit with warm water (as a temperature buffer), the filled in some of the hot water and pressed the disc down. Several times I emptied the disc and filled in new hot water. Then I filled it and put a board on the rim and placed weight on it to push it flat ... the hot water still in side. The whole procedure took about half an hour in total, I'd say. Half of the time for the initial part and half of the time for the weight-loaded part. Then I removed everything and had a per- fectly flat disc! The P3 has the flight numbers 3/2/0/3. It now flies like 3/2/0/1. In no way does it have any bit of the overstability of a Zone. Possibly it had a bit more overstability when it still had the dome but even then it was far from my Zone (and my Zone is flat, puddle-topped). I don't mind, because I do have a zone, but now I also have a disc at the more stable side of the Pure. It is nice- ly shallow as well. I think I'll have some use for it. At least I'll have fun with it. Seems to be a great disc (maybe my best one) for a one disc round. http://marmaro.de/discgolf/ markus schnalke
