2017-03-22 Bag Rearrangements The experiences from the windy P&A tournament kept me thinking a lot. Here are some results: I should do more spin putting. I should putt with anny when I'm faced with a right-to-left crosswind. (I don't feel ready for forehand putts.) The wind problems of the P2 driving putter originates most likely in an unclean release. [0] I suspect the rim depth to be the problem. Hence, I'll replace the S-Line P2 with the Opto Pure on Sunday. Then see how that turns out. I'll stick with the Pure right now. And then I'll get me a Zone (finally!) -- it has the same rim depth and width as the Comet and (probably) the same rim as the Buzzz (forehand!), which will turn out great. I'll not get me an Ion/Proxy/Envy, at least for now, because they as well have deep rims, compared to the Pure and Zone. It seems as if, for driving, I'll release cleaner with a shallow rim. (I might rather want to get me another, driving D-Line P2 instead of the S-Line P2, as my putting P2s feel better for driving than the driving P2. But first Pure and Zone ... and then I'll evaluate again.) Concerning midranges, I'll stick with the Comet and leave the Roc out. Currently, I'd also leave the Buzzz out, but I'm not sure about that. The Buzzz is great for hyzers and annies, and it is my straight forehand disc. Don't know what other disc I'd flick instead, but OTOH, I only use my forehand for doglegs right and in the wind. My Teebirds might be alright for these situations. On Sunday, I'll bag both Teebirds (one OS, one straight) and one JLS (flex shots and line-shaping) as fairways. I think that I'll be able to cover all lines with them. I'll leave the Leopard out. I don't have enough experience with it and I think I can cover the Leo lines with the JLS and Comet, and there are no water ha- zards for which I would need it as a water disc. Thus I come down to the following bag: - D-Line P2 (for putting) - Opto Pure (for driving) - ESP Comet (alround mid) - Star Teebird (straight with fade) - Champ Teebird (OS and forehand) - Q JLS (line-shaping) (I think I'll drive the 158g Star Teebird farther than the 165g Q JLS. We'll see, as the course has mainly holes above 100m ... which I've never played before.) The sports bag I have is a bit too large for these few discs and it has no separators. But the other bag I have has only space for three or four discs and no water bottle and stuff. Think I'll have to find a separator solution for my sports bag or get me a small (5-10 discs) disc golf bag somewhen.
